Temple Grandin is a famous American professor of animal science at Colorado State University. She is also a consultant to the livestock industry on animal behaviour and autism spokesperson. Dr Temple was born on August 29 1947, in Boston, Massachusetts. She is autistic.

Dr Temple did not talk until she was three and a half years old. Her parents took her to speech therapy early. Her teachers taught her how to wait and take turns when playing board games.
